IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT HARMONY ACADEMY – PLEASE READ!

Every delegate at HA will be assigned to a chorus as part of our learning. These choruses will be singing songs from our NEW AUSTRALIAN SONGBOOK! Our directing students will be working with the instructors to prepare these songs for a concert on Tuesday night, which also features our Quartet Stream quartets, and International Silver Medalists, Lemon Squeezy!

There are FIVE streams that individuals may choose from and three levels for two of the streams. There is also ONE Quartet stream that organised quartets may select. A full catalogue of classes will be available online soon, along with full descriptions of each class. PLEASE NOTE: For each of the streams there are recommended classes. However, you are free to pick and choose as you wish if you see a class that you really want to take, or if you just need a break! Here are the streams and a brief description of each:

  • Beginning - Little to no experience, not sure about arm waving, cueing, etc.
  • Intermediate - Some experience, not confident in front of a group, want to upskill your existing talents
  • Advanced - Comfortable in front of a group, confident in your skills, want to work on artistic communication with your ensemble

Arranging - (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced) - For beginning arrangers to advanced! - YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN ARRANGING SOFTWARE AND COMPUTER!

  • Beginning - Some music theory knowledge, but just want to learn how to do the basics of arranging
  • Intermediate - You have some existing arrangements but want to understand how to improve your skills
  • Advanced - You have several existing arrangements and want to work on the nuanced elements of arranging to bring more creativity and understanding to your arrangements
